During the last 11 years Cancer has affected my life in a few ways. In November 1996 my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and he lost his battle 3 and a half months later at the young age of 53. Around the same time my dad lost his battle, Tina and Miss Mary were diagnosed with breast cancer. A few years ago, Miss Mary fought till the very end losing her battle in August 2005. And again Tina fought till the very end losing her battle in July 2007 at the young age of 35. Cancer hitting so close to home gave me a whole new outlook on life and I thank God for every day of my life, my health and for the family and friends I have in my life. I also pray
everyday for a cure.
Tina and her outlook on life have influenced me to enjoy every moment of every second of every day with my family and friends. As Tina's motto goes, "You only live once and you must live it to the fullest." I miss my dad, my aunt and my cousin every day and this is why I continue to do what I can to support the ACS and my loved ones. When my son was born, Tina gave him the name "Baby Ty Ty and Ty Ty" and he will carry that name with him in rememberance of her spirit, love and life.
